Marathon, Half-Marathon and 5k Run/Walk
Saturday, January 19, 2008
The Museum of Aviation Foundation Marathon, Half-Marathon and 5K Run/Walk held January 19, 2008 was the largest one ever held here with 788 runners and walkers registering for the races on Robins Air Force Base. The participants came from 30 U.S. states, Canada and Johannesburg, South Africa. Runners included Georgia Congressman Jim Marshall, Warner Robins Air Logistics Center Commander Major General Tom Owen and his wife Mary Beth and Pat Bartness, President of the Museum of Aviation Foundation.
Braving one of the coldest days of the winter - and rain on top of it - runners and walkers had a true test of determination and fortitude. The last runner made it in after 6 1/2 hours on the 26-mile-long Marathon course. For a complete list of all participants and their times see http://robinspacers.org.
