We the People
In October of 1996, a 45-person "We The People" Theater
and Exhibit Hall opened at the Museum’s Century of Flight
Hangar. Visitors are treated at no charge to an inspiring audio-visual
presentation on the history of the United States Constitution, the
making of laws and the role of several prominent Georgians in assuring
a strong national defense.
The Constitutional provision for the "common defense"
of the United States is featured through the voting issues, historical
film footage, and a unique presentation on seven Georgians of national
prominence:
- Congressman Carl Vinson
- Senator Richard B. Russell
- Senator Walter F. George
- Senator Herman Talmadge
- President Jimmy Carter
- U.N. Ambassador Andrew Young
- Senator Sam Nunn
